Graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor or Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

After serving two years as a First Lieutenant, Aircraft Maintenance Officer in the U.S. Air Force, he was an Applications Engineer with the Cincinnati office of Vickers, Inc. for five years.

He then spent three years in a sales capacity for die casting and injection molding machines with HPM in Mt. Gilead, OH. From HPM, he moved into a Research and Development Engineering position for two years with the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Thereafter spent two years as an Applications Engineer with Pabco Fluid Power Company, an Ohio fluid power distributor.

In 1967, he founded Hydron, Inc. where he continues to serve as Chairman of the Board and President. PENGWYN was incorporated in 1987.

He is the inventor of the systems and holds some 20 patents related to hydraulics, and is a registered Professional Engineer with the State of Ohio. Jim has extensive knowledge of the products and is involved in all aspects of PENGWYN. He specializes in hydraulic circuitry and manifolds.
